2019 Scholarship Recipients
Business and Professional Women of North Sarasota held its scholarship reception on Thursday, May 9 at the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library.  Four young ladies were presented with scholarships to colleges of their choice: Chellesy Foster, Maicy Powell, Jada Robinson and Destiny Womack.

Chellesy graduated from Booker High School where she maintained a 4.5 GPA.  She attends the University of Florida and will major in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. Maicy graduated from Booker High School with a 4.35 GPA.  She attends Howard University and will major in finance.  Jada graduated from Sarasota High School with a 3.7 GPA.  She attends the University of South Florida as a Mass Communications major  with a minor in Marketing.  Destiny graduated from Bayshore High School with a 4.25 GPA.  She attends Florida Gulf Coast University majoring in Biology (Pre-Med).

Speaker for the reception was Maiyah Newsome, a 2013 scholarship recipient who recently graduated from Florida A&M University. She gave the young ladies excellent advice on college life and how to navigate through the process.
